Stop motion animation, also known as stop frame animation, is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical objects that are moved between frames. When you play back the sequence of images rapidly, it creates the illusion of movement.

The basic process of animation involves taking a photograph of your objects or characters, moving them slightly, and taking another photograph. When you play back the images consecutively, the objects or characters appear to move on their own. There are several times of stop motion animation our students will have an opportunity to create:

  • object animation
  • clay animation
  • cutout animation
  • photography animation

All films created at LearnThink Media’s 2019 summer filmmaking camps will be premiered at our inaugural Youth Vision Film Festival Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Alamo Drafthouse from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.  Students receive a Free T-Shirt, Youth Vision Film Festival Badge, and a ticket to the premiere. General tickets cost $12 per person. Ticket sales will be announced at a later time.
